Many organizations serve the older population in specific ways. However, they may need additional knowledge related to navigating a broader aging network. In the United States, there is an infrastructure at the federal, state, and local level which is in place to support the older population and their families. This network includes state departments of aging, area agencies on aging, and local providers of services. They are tasked with administrating programs, policies, budgets, and information and referral.
